Fall Wrap-Up

My fellow readers,

I wish I would’ve been more attentive to this blog as I had promised. But of course, that wasn’t the case. 19 credits during a school semester along with sorority duties, Senior Editor responsibilities, and a job = recipe for a disaster AKA me. But now that one of my wishes has come true, I truly to do promise to keep you guys up to date with my life, my fashion endeavors, and much more.

Now for the hard part, trying to summarize the entire semester. Since I physically won’t be able to I’ll compose a list of things I loved from the fall.

1. Turtle-necks: You literally cannot go wrong with this. Whether is a turtle neck thick knit dress or a fitted turtle neck shirt, they always work. They make any outfit look chic and conservative. I wore this a couple days ago and its one of my favorite outfits!

Outfit Details

Sweater Dress: Brandy Melville (similar here)

Leggings: American Apparel (here)

Short socks: Hanes

Converse: Beige Hi-tops

Bag: Tory Burch (similar here)

2. Floppy Hats: Not a summer hat. But a elegant one in muted colors such as burgundy, black, brown, gray, or beige.

3. Pleated Skirts: Match with opaque tights and booties and a sweater for a preppy but chic look.

Tights for the winter!

4. TIGHTS!!!!: It is not just because I’m obsessed with Blair Waldorf’s persona – tights are essential for the winter. Don’t be a bore and stick to jeans and leggings. Wear that cute summer dress but mute it down with colored tights and knee high boots.

5. Thigh-High Boots: Whether its with jeans or a sweater dress, look sexy but classy with thigh high boots. My favorite pair right now is my Steve Madden ones in a crocodile textured leather (click here).

6. Eyebrow Palettes: I love my eyebrows. Everyone should too. My makeup routine now revolves around filling and perfecting my eyebrows.

7. Open-Toe Booties/Mules: I had a horrible experience buying a pair from Forever21 but I loved the ones from Nine West and from Steve Madden. They really do make or break an outfit.

8. Dark Maroon Lips: I love dark lips. With any outfit. It is so nice and there are so many shades and they just effortlessly depict winter and fall.

9. White Jeans: I’m sorry but I do not follow all the fashion rules. I do wear white after labor day. AND I love it.

10. Handle-Bags: Take my Tory Burch for example. They made my bummy outfit look more dressy while still being effortless. Color-blocking is also a plus.

These are just a few of the many many things I loved about winter. But stay tuned to hear more of all the things I love from winter and fall.

Until next time (and I promise that won’t be too long from now…)

New finds.

I’ve been on the hunt for a few things these past few days and I finally made three purchases that I’m very content with. First off, I’ll discuss my obsession with boyfriend jeans. Today was a crazy manhunt because I went everywhere looking for a decent pair worth my money. I first started searching in the stores like H&M and Forever21, but found nothing there except for two “ok” pairs. Then I went to Zara and found a couple pairs I liked but something wasn’t convincing me either. I was even offered a discount by my friend who works there and I refused. There was just something about them I didn’t like, they were either too loose on my hips or butt, or would be short, or would be too tight to be boyfriend jeans. I just didn’t like them. So I went and bought one of the pairs I left at H&M and then went to the other H&M down the street and found a good solid colored, ripped pair for only $30! I quickly made the line and purchased them.

I’ve also come across an obsession with clutches, if my outfit of the day posts haven’t already told you so. They dress any outfit up so I purchased a clear envelope from ETSY for only $18! I think this clutch would look very “chic” on any outfit. Lastly, I purchased my slip ons! I tried every where looking for Zara ones and looking for H&M ones (in one of my previous posts) but I found Sam Edelman ones in Macy’s for $30, they’re originally $40 everywhere like Urban Outfitters, Zappos, and Lord & Taylor, but I found them on sale in Macy’s and purchased them instantly! I’ve attached pictures below.

What’s in my shopping cart?

My favorite part about working is when I get paid and get to actually checkout of all the stores I have shopping carts for. I’m lately a sucker for slip on sandals and white clothing. Below I have composed a list of everything I want to own!

The list varies but it consists of:

Zara light blue faded blouse. This would be perfect with jeans or white shorts like displayed.

I think these are just too cute! I like that they can be dressed up with socks and can be dressed down with jeans. A must!

These boyfriend jeans look extremely comfortable, and the color looks like it would be great for the summer. Perfect!

My absolute favorite pair! The cut out is dramatic but can be dressed up for a night out or casual!

The color is amazing and I think that with my blonde/red auburn hair, it would really pop! And a tan for the summer 🙂

I love the pattern of this body suit and I like that the back is reallllly open, I always struggle finding nice body suits.

I think this skirt is very classy and original. I love the nude and I think the shape would make my legs look great.

So sporty and sheer! Two of my favorite things. This would look awesome with high waisted jeans under a good lip!

I’m picturing this for a night out with cute one strap sandals. With a tan, this would be perfect. I also love how loose the shorts are.

I think the pattern of this dress is great to hide any figure and with cute gold accessories. The hat is also a good idea!

I’ve been LONGING for gladiator sandals and I’m finally pulling the trigger. They make any outfit pop!

This is casual and cute and the material makes it interesting. Also only $6 at H&M!

I’m nuts for nautical stripes! Love the color scheme on this and with some boyfriend jeans and slip ons, these would be PERFECT.

We all need a body fitting dress for some nights and the print on this one can make any body look slim! I also like that it has a “beach” feel.

ABSOLUTE FAVE! $12.95 at H&M! and they look amazing with my espadrilles. They can be dressed up and dressed down which is great.

Although they are sold, these are amazing from H&M!

Make-up Essentials

I know that as a teenage/college girl, our biggest problems can potentially be makeup and breaking out. Luckily for me I can count the amount of pimples I’ve ever had in one hand but I know not many of us have had this experience. Therefore, I want to share with you products that have kept my face nice and clean and always glowing – year round (trust me, this can be hard with how pale I am!)
photo 2 These are the essentials I carry with me at all times. They are affordable, easy to find, and a complete catch. The list goes as follows:

  1. Elf Golden Bronzer ($4 in Target or online)
  2. Elf Makeup Setter and Mist ($3 in Target or Online)
  3. Maybelline FIT Me Foundation ($9 any drugstore)
  4. Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer ($15 at Walmart)
  5. Wet n’ Wild Mega Plump Mascara ($2 any drug store)
  6. Urban Decay Naked Palette I ($52 Sephora)

Now I know you may not think the Naked Palette is necessary an essential but eyeshadow and playing around with different color schemes is vital to the face. Its a little pricey so I think that you’d be fine getting any of the other products first but it eventually must be in your makeup kit. I think the blending of the colors is beautiful and worth the investment. The Elf Bronzer is the perfect shade of gold and brown and it makes your face naturally glowy! The mist is cheap and does what it has to do. It keeps my makeup intact all night long without having to pay $15 for a MAC one. The FIT me foundation is very soft and looks natural which is extremely important when talking about foundation. It isn’t heavy and has not made me break out once and I’ve been using it for about 9 months now.  The moisturizer is good for girls with dry skin like me. It always leaves my face soft and dewy, not sticky, not greasy, it has the perfect amount of oils in it to keep my face hydrated. Lastly, the mascara. I chose this mascara because I already have long lashes, I don’t need to exaggerate them every day so this is a perfect soft coat on your lashes for a nice subtle look.

Hope I’ve been able to help you with some choices! Please shoot me any comments if you have any concerns or questions.

Ciao, Cyn

Below I’ve compiled a list of my favorite fashion bloggers/celebrities. These are my biggest fashion icons.

My biggest inspirations. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen.  They are effortlessly stylish, mature, and edgy. All their bold looks are nothing but inspiration to try new things. Love love love!

Ashley Madawke. I first became acquainted with her when I started watching revenge but I eventually came across her blog and fell in love. She’s so young and spirited and has such a fresh style.

Fernanda Flores. Came across her Instagram and been obsessed ever since. She’s such a loyal shopper at Zara (my favorite store!) but makes everything look 90 times nicer. She’s so elegant and classy and its refreshing to see that such a young blogger has reached so much. I also admire that she’s hispanic.
